Pregnant Paterson Woman ID'd Accused Killer Before She Died, Authorities Say
UPDATE: An ex-con whom a pregnant Paterson woman identified as her killer shortly before she died was convicted of murder following a jury trial.
Donqua “Quay” Thomas, 32, faces a minimum of 30 years in state prison without parole, with the possibility of a lifetime term, when he is sentenced on Sept. 22.
The woman he killed, Remy Lee, 31, was two weeks away from delivering their newborn son when Thomas shot her four times in broad daylight in a parking lot at the city’s Brooks-Sloate Terrace co-ops on Oct. 29, 2020, jurors in Paterson found.

Woman Charged With Burning Down Paterson Building Leaving 60 People Homeless
A 37-year-old woman on Thursday was accused of burning down a Paterson building that left four firefighters injured and 60 people homeless early this month, authorities said.
It was unclear why Yanit Valdez, of Paterson, set fire to the building at 40 Cianci St., on Aug. 3, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, and City Fire Chief Brian McDermott said.
