Belleville Bridge Closed For Road Repairs Monday, Police Say The Belleville Bridge over the Passaic River connecting Rutgers Street in Belleville and Kearny and North Arlington is closed for repairs Monday, North Arlington police confirmed.  The department sent out an alert Monday morning. North Arlington police told Daily Voice the bridge was closed for road repairs and is expected to be open by 4 p.m. Monday.  The state Department of Transportation could not immediately be reached Monday morning, but in an online alert also said the bridge was expected to re-open by 4 p.m.

Someone spotted the 30-year-old victim’s body on the Harrison side of the river from Raymond Boulevard in Newark just after 4:45 p.m., responders said. Harrison firefighters recovered the body near the PSE&G lot about 40 minutes later.
