Police ID Pedestrian Killed In Waterbury Hit-Run Crash As 43-Year-Old Woman
Authorities have identified a 43-year-old woman from Waterbury as the person killed in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend. Sabrina Starkey, 43, was killed after being struck by a car around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, near 410 Reidville Drive in Waterbury, police said. Waterbury officers were called to the area for reports of a car crashing into a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene. They arrived to find Starkey suffering from catastrophic injuries. Police ID Pedestrian Killed In Waterbury Crash As 36-Year-Old
Authorities have identified the 36-year-old pedestrian who was hit and killed in a Waterbury crash earlier this week. Joseph Mackendy, of Haiti, was hit around 10:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, as he walked in the area of 581 Chase Ave. in Waterbury. Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, but doctors could not save him from the severe head wounds he suffered in the wreck. The driver remained at the scene. Pedestrian Killed Crossing Route 110 In East Farmingdale: Police
A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 110 in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Dec. 20. The man was crossing the southbound lanes of Route 110 just south of Price Parkway when he was hit by a 2015 Acura at 5:04 a.m., according to police. A woman struck and killed while crossing a busy roadway in Nassau County has been identified, police said. Azucena Lopez Rodriguez, 46, of Lynbrook, was fatally struck while crossing Sunrise Highway at the intersection of Horton Avenue at 5:33 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, according to Nassau County Police. Detectives said Lopez Rodriguez was hit by a 2012 Hyundai operated by an 18-year-old male. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a hospital physician. The driver remained at the scene following the crash, police said. The investigation remains ongoing.
