A 33-year-old Northern Westchester woman who allegedly stabbed her 8-year-old son has been identified. Dayona Hammonds, of Peekskill, was arrested Monday, Feb. 17, after Peekskill Police responded to a home on Main Street after receiving a 911 call about a woman threatening to stab her son, said Peekskill Police. When police arrived, the boy had already suffered a stab wound to his torso, police said. The boy was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Peekskill Police Lt. Police Investigating Theft Of Wallet With $1K From Unlocked Vehicle In Northern Westchester
Police are investigating a theft from an unlocked vehicle in Northern Westchester. Officers responded to Washington Street in Peekskill for a report of a robbery around 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, said Peekskill Police Lt. Jack Galusha. After a brief interview with the victim police found that a wallet with approximately $1,000 had been taken from inside the unlocked vehicle, Galusha said. Man Killed While Walking Along Roadway In Northern Westchester
A 78-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was walking on a roadway in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29, when William O’Connor was walking in the area of Washington and Requa streets, said Peekskill Police Lt. Jack Galusha. O'Connor, of Peekskill, reportedly suffered a serious head wound and was unresponsive when police arrived on the scene. A 24-year-old man arrested for allegedly stealing 16 cans of spray paint, was later arrested for an earlier graffiti tagging of a Route 6 sound barrier. Northern Westchester businesses are being warned about a spike in the number of counterfeit bills being passed in the area. Peekskill Police said they have recently received reports of several unidentified subjects passing phony $100 bills at local businesses. A pair of partners in crime victimized a local man during a strong-arm robbery in which they held a razor knife to the victim's throat as they ripped off his wallet in Northern Westchester.
