Covid-19: As Cases Increase, Here's Latest Breakdown By Locale In Westchester
Just like most of New York State, Westchester has seen a recent spike in COVID-19 infections, though alarm bells aren't ringing yet for County Executive George Latimer.
There were 485 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Westchester over the weekend, as the number of active cases jumped to 2,048 as of Monday, Nov. 9, according to the county Department of Health.
Latimer noted that as recently as three months ago, on Sunday, Aug. 8, there were only 442 active cases in the county.

Westchester continues to see a larger number of new COVID-19 cases than it had during the summer, though the infection rate is trending in the right direction.
After seeing new COVID-19 cases topping 200 in recent days, Westchester reported 116 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, Oct. 28, according to the state Department of Health.
Though there have been new infections reported, the positive infection rate in Westchester has only hit 2 percent twice in the past week:

After seeing new COVID-19 cases topping 200 in recent days, Westchester has seen a sharp downtick, with less than 100 newly confirmed cases.
The Westchester County Department of Health reported 72 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Oct. 22, down from recent days.
