Driver, 38, Killed After Hitting Landscaping Stone, Tree In South Jersey Crash
A 38-year-old Williamstown man died in a Franklin Township crash late Saturday, March 2, local police said. Robert Lafferty III's Kia Optima veered off the 3500 block of West Malaga Road into the oncoming lane of traffic before hitting a landscaping stone, several mailboxes and a tree before coming to rest, local police said. Lafferty was hospitalized where he was pronounced dead while his 41-year-old male passenger suffered a possible broken wrist, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Car Outside Long Island Fitness Center
A man is recovering after being struck by a car in the parking lot of a Long Island fitness center. The incident happened at around 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in Riverhead, just outside the Planet Fitness on Old Country Road. According to Riverhead Police, a 52-year-old woman was driving a Honda pickup truck through the parking lot when she struck the victim, identified as a 68-year-old Aquebogue man. A Long Island man was walking in the early hours of the morning when a driver hit him and fled the scene, leaving him with serious injuries, police said. On Thursday, May 4 at around 5 a.m., 24-year-old William Thomas was walking northbound in the roadway of Park Avenue in Greenlawn, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after somehow ending up on the windshield of a car he collided with in Glen Rock Wednesday, Dec. 28, police and witnesses said. $2.75 Million Settlement Reached In Renowned Late Crabber's Fall From Jersey Shore Dock
The family of a popular Monmouth County crabber who died after falling through a dilapidated dock is reportedly receiving a $2.75 million settlement. Patrick Shopp of Port Monmouth was walking along the dock at the Belford Seafood Co-Op in early 2020 when a broken board dropped him six feet onto the deck of his boat, according to The New Jersey Law Journal.
