The tribe has spoken — and this fall, five contestants from the Northeast will try their luck on the beaches of Fiji as part of Survivor’s 49th season.
CBS unveiled the new cast on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and it includes plenty of familiar hometowns from the Daily Voice coverage area.
Among them is 28-year-old Jawan Pitts, who grew up in Salem, New Jersey, and now works as a video editor in Los Angeles.
Nicole Mazullo, 26, is a Long Island native now living in Philadelphia, where she works as a financial crime consultant.

Philly Men Had Stolen Gun, Hollow-Point Bullets: North Wildwood PD
A 35-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm in North Wildwood, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 18.
On Saturday, Aug. 14, officers received information a group of people were in possession of a gun near 23rd Avenue and the boardwalk, North Wildwood police said. Paul Volpe was found to be in possession of a Sig Sauer P290 .380, which was stolen out of Pennsylvania, police said. The firearm was found to have both hollow-point and round nose bullets in the magazine, police said. He was arrested at the scene, police said.

Federal Court Reconvicts Lebanon Man For Execution-Style Killing After Overturning First Trial
A Lebanon man whose 2015 murder conviction was thrown out by a federal court has been found guilty again — and this time, the judge made sure his sentence would keep him behind bars forever.
Eddie Williams, 50, was sentenced Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, to life in prison without parole plus 25 additional years after a Lebanon County jury in June convicted him of First-Degree Homicide, Conspiracy to Commit Homicide, Attempted Homicide, Robbery, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, and multiple other crimes, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Port Jeff Sisters, 16, Have Been Missing For Days
Authorities are asking for help in locating two Long Island sisters who have been missing for several days.
Daneayah and Daneajah Johnson, both 16, were last seen in Port Jefferson Station on Saturday, Aug. 9, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse.
Daneayah was wearing a black shirt, gray pants, and gray Jordan shoes, while Daneajah had a blue sweater, black sweatpants, and slippers.
The girls may have traveled to Philadelphia, police said.
