'Adventurous Spirit': Pilot Killed In NY Plane Crash Remembered For 'Palpable Zest For Life'
Natalie Gillis saw much of the world in her 34 years, most of it from the air.
The pilot from Toronto, Canada died Monday morning, June 17, when her twin engine Piper plane crashed just moments after taking off from Albany International Airport.
Gillis, the aircraft’s sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Colonie Police. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the NTSB.

Hegarty, 41, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024 surrounded by her family, according to her obituary on the Murphy Funeral Homes website.

Mike McNamara, Popular Jersey City Photographer, Dad Dies
Mike McNamara, an institution in the Jersey City arts community, died on Friday, Feb. 16, due to a complication after surgery, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family.
A photographer, McNamara dedicated his time to the Brunswick Community Garden in Jersey City.
"He was an amazing photographer, a great organizer of so many events that brought us all together, a father, a husband, and much more," Beth Achenbach, a Jersey City artist said on Facebook.
