Gas Line Explosion Injures Four Near Route 287 In Piscataway
Four construction workers were injured after an explosion occurred while they were pressure testing a gas line while working on River Road Bridge near Route 287 on the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 5, the township confirmed. The four workers, employed by energy company J. Fletcher Creamer & Son Inc. were taken to a nearby hospital, the township said, calling the explosion "serious." Man Shot, Killed In Central Jersey: Prosecutor
A 25-year-old man from Piscataway was fatally shot, authorities said. Isaiah Benbow was killed in Piscataway on Tuesday, Dec. 19, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Deputy Chief Michelle Pilch of the Piscataway Police Department. At approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to Rock Avenue and West 4th Street for a shooting. A for-profit school in Middlesex County is being forced to pay a $4.6 million after the state said it deceived students and offered unlawful loans. Sollers Inc. which is based in Piscataway, used false and misleading job advertisements to funnel students into its programs and falsely claimed that agreements requiring students to pledge a portion of their future income in exchange for money upfront for their programs was not a loan, Attorney General Matthew Platkin said.
