Suicidal Knife-Wielding Man Shot By Officers In Essex, Police Say
A knife-wielding man is recovering in the hospital after being shot by police in Maryland during a confrontation in Baltimore County, authorities announced.
The shooting was reported around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, in the 1000 block of Pine Road in Essex, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Officers had been called to the area for a report of a missing “suicidal subject,” police said.
When they arrived, they located the man, who has not been identified, armed with a knife.

A Paramus Emergency Services police officer was hospitalized Thursday morning, May 15, after a crash that occurred while he was on his way to help a woman giving birth in a vehicle, officials said.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Farview Avenue at Farview Terrace, according to Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti.

On Sunday, November 24, at 1:02 a.m. police responded to Miller Street near McCarter Highway after receiving reports of erratic driving by multiple drivers, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. said.
