A man was hospitalized after he went onto the tracks at Hoboken PATH Train and was electrocuted on Sunday, Aug. 10, authorities said.
At 1:55 a.m., officers found a 25-year-old man on the tracks, unconscious after trying to retrieve his dropped cell phone, Port Authority police said. He was injured after coming in contact with the third rail, police said.
Power to the third rail was shut and the victim was removed, stabilized and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in serious but stable condition, police said.

More than 60 people have been arrested in connection with a protest that completely shutdown I-676 in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon, March 30, authorities said.
The protestors were from the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and ran onto the highway at Broad Street around 4 p.m., causing disruptions to traffic flow, Philadelphia police said at the time.

A traveler was caught trying to board a flight with a loaded gun and 100 boxed bullets in his carry-on at LaGuardia Airport, authorities said.
The checkpoint X-ray unit triggered an alarm that led to the discovery on Tuesday, April 25, said Lisa Farbstein, a spokesperson for the Transporation Security Administration.
The .22-caliber gun was loaded with 10 rounds and came with two boxes of 50 bullets each, Farbstein said.
