Darien Police say they observed a dark-colored sedan stationary on Hecker Avenue at the intersection of Post Road on Saturday, May 4 around 12:30 a.m. Police say the vehicle’s signal was on flash and that it was not moving despite the lack of traffic. A 41-year-old man was arrested after being busted stealing a laptop from the Darien Public Library and attempting to store it in a USPS mailbox. Officers from the Darien Police Department responded to the library on Post Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 26, following reports of a stolen laptop. A woman fled from an area bank on foot after attempting to cash a potentially fraudulent check for $5,000, police said.
