Snow Day! These Bergen County Schools Are Closed, Delayed Wednesday
Winter weather advisories have now been issued for all counties in the region from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, with warnings already in effect for areas farther north and west. Snowfall accumulations across the area will range from 2 inches to 7 inches. Most locations are expected to see 2-3 inches, with areas north of I-84 having the potential for 6 to 8 inches. One Bust, Eight Burglaries Solved For Prospect Park Detective
PROSPECT PARK, N.J. – A Prospect Park police detective cracked eight burglaries – in which a combined $14,600 worth of valuables were taken -- with the arrest of a local man. Detective Walter Richmond identified and, then, with the assistance of Officer Arthur Canestrino and Sgt. Amy Perlmutter, arrested 20-year-old Trevon Williams. Richmond had arrested Williams in November for burglarizing a local deli, and he was released soon after under New Jersey bail reform law. Prospect Park PD: Teens Arrange Separate 'Sale' Meetings, Swipe 3 Dirtbikes
PROSPECT PARK, N.J. – Aided by cellphone video, Prospect Park police tracked down two teens who they said arranged meetings to buy dirt bikes from three different owners – then stole them. Ameir Logan, 18, was working on one of the stolen bikes in front of his Paterson home when Detective Walter Richmond and Officer Arthur Canestrino rolled up on him, authorities said. Prospect Park PD: Burglar Broke Into Same Pizzeria Twice In Three Days
PROSPECT PARK, N.J. – A burglar was caught on surveillance video breaking into the same Prospect Park pizzeria twice in three days, said authorities who arrested him. Matthew Zaledzieski, 38, who lives in town, first broke a front-door window to get into Time to Eat Pizzeria on Haledon Avenue on Dec. 30 before fleeing with $50 from the cash register, Detective Walter Richmond said Friday. Hackensack PD: Out-Of-Towners Busted At Bus Station With Loaded Gun, Drugs
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack police nabbed four men -- one of whom was carrying a loaded gun -- after citizens alerted them to drug dealing at the River Street bus station, authorities said. Detectives and officers were watching as a white Ford with four occupants -- and no front license plate -- pulled up around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, said Capt. Peter Busciglio.
