Suspect In CT Parking Lot Murder Apprehended In Puerto Rico
A Connecticut man wanted for the alleged deadly shooting of a man in the parking lot of a convenience store was apprehended in Puerto Rico and returned to face charges. Gelson Cruz, age 22, of Waterbury, was extradited to Waterbury by detectives assigned to the US Marshals Task Force on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Cruz was charged with the murder of Jordan Savage, age 26, of Waterbury in the parking lot of the Colonial Grocer on Colonial Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 13, said Lt. There will be one more day of a springlike stretch of weather before a cold front moves through the region followed by potential impacts from a storm system developing in the Atlantic. CT Man Admits Trafficking Cocaine Through US Mail
A 35-year-old Connecticut man has admitted to trafficking cocaine through the United States Mail. Jean Mangual-Castro, of West Haven, pleaded guilty on Monday, Sept. 12, to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. A Hudson Valley man who admitted to taking part in an armed cocaine robbery and later smuggling a loaded gun into jail will spend more than two decades in federal prison.
