Putnam Man With Four Warrants Caught With Heroin, Sheriff Says
A wanted man with four active warrants was taken back into police custody after being stopped with heroin and paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Route 9 in Putnam County. A member of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit stopped Putnam Valley resident Richard Wulfhop in Philipstown on Friday, July 19, when he committed a traffic violation on Route 9. 28-Year-Old Charged With Selling Crack Cocaine, Heroin In Putnam County
A lengthy investigation into the sale of crack cocaine in Putnam County led to the arrest of a man in Florida who was busted attempting to sell firearms in Orlando, the Sheriff’s Department announced. In November last year, the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit received a tip that Rafael Veras-Molina, 28, of Orlando, who temporarily lived in Danbury, was selling crack-cocaine and heroin in Putnam. Search For Missing Man Leads To Lake Carmel Closure
Lake Carmel is closed to swimmers and boaters as emergency responders search for a missing man. The Lake Carmel Fire Department said it was dispatched on a report of a missing swimmer at around 7:35 p.m. Saturday, July 20. The man has been identified as a Connecticut resident in his 50s. The department was assisted in the search by the Carmel Fire Department, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department dive team and Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Kent Police.
