Area High School Student's Racially Charged Social Media Post Draws Condemnation
A racially charged post on Snapchat by an area high school student that went viral has put the author in hot water with law enforcement. The incident began when the unidentified student at Minisink Valley High School allegedly took a photo of a female African-American classmate and then referred to her using the "N'" word in the post, and adding that she should be lynched, said News 12. White Supremacist Stickers Spotted Near Post Office In Northern Westchester
Months after flyers promoting a white supremacist group near schools in Westchester were posted, the organization is back at it, this time with stickers supporting their cause that were spotted on a street sign in Northern Westchester. In July, recruitment posters for Identity Evropa, have cropped up in Croton-on-Hudson, including several that were hung outside the Croton-Harmon High School and the local middle school. A Paramus landlord texted racial slurs to a black mom while refusing to rent her an apartment, said federal housing authorities who’ve charged him with discrimination. John Graham “denied the opportunity to rent a two-bedroom apartment that was advertised on Craigslist because [the woman and her young son] are African-American,” the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) said. An Eastchester landlord and building superintendent have been accused of racial discrimination after a seven-week sting operation that used black and white testers posing as prospective tenants, according to this report by Westfair. The Fair Housing Justice Center (FHJC) reportedly sued New Property Associates LLC and Dikson Dumitrescu, the superintendent, on Sept. 20 in U.S. District Court in White Plains.
