Eight people have been arrested for violating the county and state's social distancing order amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The arrests took place in Rockland County, which has been heavily hit by both COVID-19 cases and fatalities, late on Thursday, April 9, when Ramapo Police were advised of a gathering by a neighbor at 92 North Saddle River Road in Monsey, the Ramapo Police said. Hanukkah Stabbing Victim Dies Three Months After Machete Attack
The man who has been struggling for life since a machete attack at a rabbi's home in the area this past December has died from his injuries. Rabbi Yisroel Kahan of Monsey said on Sunday, March 29, that the family had been holding out hope he would improve, but Josef Neuman, 72, died on Sunday. Three-Car Crash Injures Four After Driver Allegedly Runs Stop Sign In Area
Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash after the driver of one of the vehicles allegedly ran a stop sign. The crash took place around 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25 in Rockland County at Wilder Road and Lime Kiln Road, in Wesley Hills, said the Ramapo Police. Ramapo police said that the driver of one of the vehicles failed to stop at the stop sign on Lime Kiln Road and struck two vehicles on Wilder Road. Four people were transported to a local hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries, police said. That driver was issued several summonses.

Child Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle
This story has been updated. A child suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the area. The incident happened on Saturday, Feb. 15 at around 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 in Rockland County. The child, reportedly a 6-year-old boy, was rushed to Westchester Medical Center. Remsen Avenue between Groove Street and Hilda Lane in Monsey was closed during the crash investigation. It reopened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, Ramapo Police said. Beloved High School Soccer Coach ID'd As Victim Of Fatal House Fire
A beloved high school soccer coach has been identified as the victim of a fatal house fire that broke out over the weekend. The blaze started just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 in Rockland County on Rockland Lane in Hillcrest. The house was fully engulfed in flames when Ramapo Police officers arrived. Two men were nabbed early in the morning for allegedly stealing numerous items from a local retail store. Rampo Police arrested the pair of 28-year-old Spring Valley residents on Tuesday, Dec. 31, after receiving a call from the store of a larceny in progress, police said. A 19-year-old who was shot over the weekend in Rockland has died from his injuries. Crash Closes Road, Knocks Out Power In Rockland
A crash in Rockland County has caused road closures and power outages, including at New Hempstead Elementary School. The crash took place around 4:21 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, when a vehicle traveling westbound on New Hempstead Road lost control and struck a utility pole causing a power outage in the area, Ramapo Police said.
