Fiery Crash Closes Route 17
A driver escaped serious injury after an SUV struck a pole and burst into flames Monday morning on Route 17. Route 17 was initially closed in both directions just past the Bottle King on the northbound side in Ramsey after the crash downed power lines shortly after 8:30 a.m. The southbound lanes were reopened an hour later. UPDATE: A trio of firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion during a "difficult" weekend barn fire in Saddle River, responders said.
