Franklin Lakes House Fire Doused
Firefighters quickly extinguished a Franklin Lakes house blaze before it could do more damage. Boxes apparently caught fire in the basement of the Summit Avenue home just off Route 208 shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, responders said. Firefighters had the flames knocked down within a half-hour, they said. The fire was declared under control minutes later. Mutual aid responders either at the scene or in coverage included firefighters from Fair Lawn, Midland Park, Ramsey, Waldwick and Wyckoff, responders said.

: Allendale Ex-Con Freed After Two Years Charged In Ramsey, Ho-Ho-Kus Burglaries
A Bergen County ex-con with a violent history had been free all of two days when he started up again, authorities said. Justinian Rocco, 25, of Allendale was released from custody only two weeks ago. Ramsey Woman, Long Island Man Busted On Drug, Prostitution Charges At Route 17 Hotel
A Ramsey woman and a companion from Long Island were busted on prostitution charges at a Route 17 hotel. Donna Olsen, 35, was charged with prostitution and selling heroin, coke and crystal meth, among other offenses after police called to do a welfare check at the Extended Stay America on the northbound highway found both of them, Ramsey Police Chief Brian M. An apparently accidental weekend fire that claimed the life of a Bergen County teenager has staggered many in the community where she was raised, as well as others from area towns and beyond. Riley Boyle, 17, was in the shower when the fire broke out close to the rear entrance of the 2½-story Bonnie Way home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, responders said. Young Child Airlifted To Hospital After Near-Drowning In Bergen Backyard Pool
A young child was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center after nearly drowning in a backyard pool in Mahwah late Wednesday afternoon. The boy, 3, was breathing on his own but unconscious when first responders arrived at the Wyckoff Avenue home near the Ramsey border. He regained consciousness, however, and was picked up by AirMed 1 at the nearby George Washington School field, witnesses said. No further information was immediately available.

Wyckoff Firefighters Make Quick Work Of House Fire
Wyckoff firefighters quickly doused a house fire, preventing more serious damage. They responded to the Kingston Street blaze shortly before 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 1, and had the two-alarm fire knocked down within 15 minutes. No injuries were reported. Waldwick, Ho-Ho-Kus and Ramsey firefighters were among the mutual aid responders. Companies were already being released before 10 a.m.
