A fire that ripped through an apartment building in Morris County before dawn Friday remained under investigation, authorities said. Crews responding to the reported third-alarm commercial fire at the Powder Mill Heights complex on Gates Court in Parsippany were met with smoky conditions in the lobby and flames in a lower level duplex unit shortly before 1 a.m., the Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department confirmed. Arson Units Probe Morris County House Fire
Arson units are investigating a fire that ravaged a Morris County home late Tuesday night. The fire was spotted by a Chester Township patrol officer at 25 Lamerson Rd. in Chester Township just before 10:45 p.m., police said. The blaze was extinguished by the Chester Township Volunteer Fire Department with help from fire companies in Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills, Bernardsville, Liberty Corner, Pottersville, New Vernon, Ralston, Mendham Borough, Brookside, Fairmount, Flanders, Budd Lake and Randolph, police said. Detectives arrested a driver who they said struck and killed a beloved pet services company owner outside a Clifton supermarket. Chloe Villar-Severino, 31, was struck by an SUV in the parking lot of the Aldi on Lakeview Avenue on Tuesday, authorities said. A Morris County woman leapt from the third story of a hotel in an attempt to avoid apprehension after allegedly stealing cash and medical marijuana from an acquaintance, authorities said.
