Two New Jersey residents are accused of stealing nearly $2,000 from the bedroom of a deceased woman whom they occasionally assisted, and confronted the woman's brother during the wake about lock changes, police said.
On Saturday, July 19, at approximately 8:24 p.m., Lyndhurst police responded to a local residence for an unattended death, according to Lyndhurst Capt. Paul F. Haggerty. The death was determined to be from natural causes, but a police investigation was conducted as a procedural matter.

Two men are facing felony charges after a daytime residential burglary in Dutchess County, according to police.
The incident happened on Tuesday, May 13 around 11:53 a.m., when officers responded to a burglary report on Pershing Avenue, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department said on Wednesday morning, May 14.
By the time officers arrived, the suspects had already left the scene. However, a quick investigation helped officers identify the individuals as Christopher Cortez, 46, and Eric Espinosa, 36, the department announced.

Two Newark teenagers were arrested and charged on Friday, May 9, with stealing vehicles from a home in Secaucus last month, authorities said.
On Wednesday, April 16, a witness alerted officers about a red BMW M3 abandoned in the roadway near Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus police said. The occupants of the vehicle fled and got into a white SUV, police said. Twelve members of a South American burglary crew were apprehended by Cedar Grove police in Allendale, authorities announced on Friday, April 18.
The criminal crew, composed of Colombian natives, was targeting the homes of Asian business owners throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, Cedar Grove police said.
The sophisticated operation, which involved weekly residential burglaries, included wi-fi jammers, GPS devices, police scanners and multiple lookouts, police said. The victims suffered hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses, police said.

Two men who were arrested in Union County earlier this month were arrested again following a home invasion in Wall Township in January, authorities said.
On Monday, Jan. 20, three masked men forcibly entered a home on Baileys Corner Road through a rear window, Wall Township police said.
The homeowner said the suspects stole car keys from a counter inside the home but were unable to remove the vehicle from the property, police said.

Two men have been arrested and charged in 18 burglaries and one attempted burglary across North Jersey, authorities said.
A months-long investigation found Kali J. Carter, 49, of East Orange, and Demetrius D. Hale, 49, of Bergenfield, were responsible for the incidents, all of which were residential burglaries, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Burglars Hit Same Saddle Brook Residence Twice While Homeowner Is There, Police Say
A Saddle Brook resident was home when burglars entered not once but twice, apparently trying to find a vehicle key fob, authorities said.
It was shortly before 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, when a dark-colored sedan dropped off two burglars in front of the victim's home at the south end of town, said Capt. John A. Zotollo, Jr., the officer in charge of the department.
The pair removed a rear screen, climbed in and fled with several purses and a jacket, the captain said.
