Pier 1 Imports To Close Trio Of North Jersey Stores
Pier 1 imports will be closing three of its North Jersey stores. The Paramus (Route 4 East), Edgewater and East Hanover stores are among the 450 locations nationwide to shutter. The Paramus location is expected to close in late February, NJ.com reports, although its Route 17 store in Paramus will remain open. It is unclear when the other two stores will shutter. Merchandise is listed at between 20 and 40 percent off.

CT Location Among 28 Macy's Store Closures Announced
A Macy’s location in Connecticut is among more than two dozen being closed down nationwide, continuing the trend of traditional brick-and-mortar retailers shutting their doors. Just after Pier 1 announced plans to close nearly half its stores, Macy’s said that it will be closing at least 28 stores in the coming months, including the location in Meriden at the Westfield Meriden Mall. More traditional brick-and-mortar retail stores are set to shutter their doors as online shopping continues to corner the market for shoppers. Just after Pier 1 announced plans to close hundreds of stores nationwide, Macy’s announced that it will be closing more than two dozen stores in the coming months, including two in New York State. Long Island Dollar Tree Store Closing
Dollar Tree announced it will be shutting down one of its Long Island stores by the end of the month. The Deer Park location on Commack Road will close by the middle of January, a company spokesperson announced. When it closes its doors, there will be 50 Dollar Tree stores remaining on Long Island, with at least two more scheduled to open later this year. A Long Island Kmart will close this fall. The Kmart store at 2280 North Ocean Ave in the Expressway Plaza in Farmingville will close for "economic" reasons, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing submitted to the New York State Department of Labor. Acme Stores In Woodcliff Lake, Elmwood Park To Shutter
A pair of Bergen County Acme markets will shutter this fall, a company spokesperson said. The Woodcliff Lake (Chestnut Ridge Road) and Elmwood Park (Broadway) stores will shutter by Oct. 2, a company spokesperson told NJ.com. Two other stores in Weehawken and Scarsdale, N.Y. will also be closing around the same time, Acme spokeswoman Dana Ward told the media outlet. Acme closed its Park Ridge location in 2018, just three years after renewing the lease from a shuttered A&P. Its Bergenfield store also went out of business in 2017.
