"She was conscious and alert and taken to Palisades General Hospital for follow-up care" after being struck Saturday afternoon near the Maramis Cafe, Police Chief Donald Martin told Daily Voice. The girl required surgery for a severe chin cut, responders said. The driver received a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
