Passaic Sheriff: Morris Security Company Worker, 48, Sexted, Sent Gifts To 12-Year-Old Girl
A 12-year-old Totowa girl received sexually explicit texts and a gift in the mail from a 48-year-old Morris County man who works for an Essex County security company, said authorities who arrested him Monday. Michael J. Chiuchiolo Jr. of Riverdale “communicated with the child for several weeks” before her mother discovered the texts, which purported to be from a man in his late teens, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. 30 Units Destroyed, Firefighter Hospitalized In Riverdale Condo Fire
A fire at a Riverdale condo complex displaced residents of nearly 30 units and sent a firefighter to the hospital for evaluation, authorities said. Everyone made it out of Building 4 at The Grande safely when officers arrived around 10:15 p.m. Friday to find a fourth-floor balcony in flames, Riverdale police said in a news release. A firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution, authorities said. Riverdale firefighters and surrounding agencies knocked the blaze down before it spread to the roof, police said. The Red Cross was helping the displaced residents.

Morris County Jurors Convict Wayne Cigarette Thief In High-Speed DWI Chase, Crash
Jurors in Morristown convicted a 37-year-old Wayne man who authorities said was drunk during a high-speed Morris County chase that ended in a crash. Pequannock police tried pulling over Derek Schor on Route 23 after he stole cigarettes from an Exxon station in Wayne in August 2017, authorities said. Schor -- who had a suspended driver's license -- kept going, leading a pursuit involving several police units that ended when his Ford F-150 rolled over three times on the I-287 entrance ramp in Riverdale, they said. : Riverdale Store Owner Accused Of Selling Juul Pods To Minors
Tips from concerned Riverdale residents lead to the arrest of a convenience store owner accused of allowing his employees to sell Juul pods to high schoolers, authorities said. An investigation by Detective Eric Hollenstein found that Pranav Shah, 36 of South Plainfield, and his employees at a Hamburg Turnpike store had been selling the pods for more than $25 to students under the age of 21 from Pompton Lakes and surrounding towns, Riverdale Police said in a press release. The sales also break a borough ordinance that bans the sale of tobacco to anyone under 21 years old, police said. …

Young members of the Englewood Soccer Club were hailed by the local mayor and council Tuesday night for their 2018 championship.
