Long Island Teen Located After Four Months; Another 15-Year-Old With Same Name Still Missing
A Long Island teen who vanished in East Garden City in May has been found safe, Nassau County Police announced on Friday, Sept. 12.
Julian Carbajal, 15, was last seen around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, shortly after 14-year-old Gabriella Panameno-Marinero went missing in Uniondale, according to police.
Carbajal is 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds, with brown curly hair and blue eyes. He had last been seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers, detectives said.
Authorities confirmed he was located safely after being missing for nearly four months.

A retired Long Island police officer shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself inside their Jamesport home, Suffolk County Police announced on Thursday, June 12.
Edward Crohan, 62, fatally shot his wife, Stephanie Crohan, 63, and then took his own life, according to a police press release.
Riverhead Town Police were called to 56 Lagoon Court around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11 for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found both Edward and Stephanie dead from gunshot wounds, Suffolk County Homicide Squad detectives said.

26-Year-Old Busted Driving Stolen Car On Long Island, Police Say
A report of a stolen car ended with a 26-year-old man in handcuffs on Long Island.
Riverhead Town Police were alerted at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, that a vehicle stolen from Nassau County was believed to be entering Riverhead.
Nearly 10 minutes later, patrol units spotted the 2006 Dodge Charger stopped on Route 58 near Mill Road, according to police.

Two people are behind bars after allegedly robbing a man at knifepoint outside a Long Island business.
The incident was reported just after 11 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Riverhead, outside the Morenitas Deli on Griffin Avenue near Main Street, according to Riverhead Town Police.
When officers arrived, the victim told them that a man and woman had forcibly removed his cellphone and cash at knifepoint. There were no reports of injuries.

Police are investigating after two teens were reported missing from a youth care center on Long Island.
Crisuary Almonte-Esteves, age 13, and Hailey Cantwell, age 16, were last seen Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch in Riverhead, located near Sound and Osborn avenues, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Almonte-Esteves is described as a Hispanic female 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 147 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Cantwell is described as a white female 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Five Injured In Head-On Long Island Crash Involving Drunk Driver, Police Say
Five people suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being hit head-on by an alleged unlicensed drunk driver who was carrying a loaded gun.
The crash occurred in Suffolk County around 7:50 p.m., Sunday, March 14, on Sound Avenue after the driver of an eastbound vehicle, Margarito Romero Quinteros, age 53, of Riverhead, crossed over the double yellow line and hit another vehicle head-on, Riverhead Town police said.
The five people in the vehicle that was struck were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment, police said.

A Long Island man was arrested in connection with a high-speed pursuit that seriously injured a police officer.
On Thursday, April 2, Suffolk County Sheriff's deputies were conducting a narcotics investigation in the Middle Island area when they spotted a man matching the description of a suspect wanted for a high-speed pursuit in Southold and Riverhead on Tuesday, March 31, that badly injured a Riverhead Town police officer, said Suffolk County Sheriff's Chief Michael P.
