Police are investigating an overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway that left a woman dead and a man seriously injured.
It happened around 2:40 a.m. Monday, May 29 between exits 58 and 59 in Islandia.
The woman was driving a 2010 Ford Edge eastbound with her boyfriend in the front passenger seat, when the vehicle left the roadway, struck the center median, spun around, and struck the right guardrail, Suffolk County Police said.

Connecticut State Police are seeking witnesses to a crash on I-84 that killed a 24-year-old man.
The crash took place in Hartford County around 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 19 on I-84 in Southington.
According to state police, Elijah Joseph Vallier, age 24, of New Britain, was driving a 2003 Ford F-250 truck eastbound on the highway in the right lane of three when the driver of a 2023 Tesla Model 3 driven by Fairfield County resident Shannon James Sherry, age 47, of Fairfield, veered across the center lane, into the right lane and collided with the truck.

Fatal Crash: Long Island Man Crossing Busy Highway Struck By Car
A local man was killed after being hit by a car while crossing a busy Long Island highway.
The incident took place in Suffolk County around 8:40 p.m., Tuesday, April 18 on the Montauk Highway in Shirley.
According to Suffolk County Police, a 53-year-old Shirley man was driving a 2016 Subaru eastbound in the travel lane of Montauk Highway, west of Camp Upton Road, when the vehicle struck Paul Moran, who was crossing the roadway.
Moran, age 57, of Shirley, was pronounced dead at the scene by an EMT with Shirley Community Ambulance, police said.
