Westchester County has issued an emergency order to fast-track critical ride inspections and repairs at Playland Amusement Park, following the departure of former operator Standard Amusements, officials announced.

Rob Astorino Concedes To Pete Harckham In State Senate Race
Three weeks after Election Day, incumbent Democratic State Sen. Pete Harckham has declared victory over Republican challenger Rob Astorino in the 40th Senate District.
The race between the two had been hotly contested, though absentee ballots turned the tide for Harckham. At the time of his concession, Astorino held a slight lead, though there were thousands of ballots still to be counted.
The 40th district includes parts of Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties.
