Boonton Porch Fire Spreads To Nearby Home, 1 Hospitalized With Burns
One person was hospitalized with minor burns in a house fire that brought firefighters from several departments to the scene in Boonton Friday night, reports say. The blaze broke out on the back porch of a home on the 200 block of William Street and spread to the roof of another around 10:15 p.m., firefighters said. The fire had reached three alarms in nearly 30 minutes. The victim, an occupant, was Boonton Kiwanis Ambulance for treatment, firefighters said. The injury was reportedly minor. Rockaway Firefighters Contain Commercial Blaze
Firefighters prevented a late-night blaze from damaging expensive machinery at a Rockaway metal manufacturing company. Borough police were the first responders at the scene after the fire broke out near the rear of Able Gear and Machine on Stickle Avenue and collapsed a portion of the roof shortly before 11:30 p.m., authorities said. Morris County Sex Offender Previously Convicted Of Assaulting Boys Gets 10 Years For Child Porn
A registered sex offender from Morris County who served time for sexually assaulting two boys is headed back to prison for uploading child porn. Under New Jersey’s No Early Release Act, Alexander Willadsen, 31, must serve 8½ years of a 10-year state prison sentence handed down Friday by Superior Court Judge David H. Ironson in Morristown before he'll be eligible for parole. Kristen Feeney died on Feb. 22 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. She was 52. Raised in New Randolph, Kristen graduated from Randolph High School in 1985, her obituary says. Kristen went on to attend Arcadia University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources in 1989. The mom of a former Rutgers University student who was struck and killed by a train after leaving a fraternity party has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the university and the fraternity, NJ.com reports. Claudia Patterson filed the suit in Superior Court of Middlesex County on behalf of her son, Kenneth Patterson of Rockaway, who died as a freshman in 2017. Community Rallies For Dover Teen's Grieving Family
The community is rallying for the family of a Dover High School student who died a week after being struck by a car leaving a football game. Steven Gomez-Restrepo was in a medically-induced coma at Morristown Medical Center since the Sept. 13 incident on Route 46 in Rockaway. He died Sept. 21 at 15 years old.
