ID Released For Rockland Man, 56, Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash
Police have released the identity of a 56-year-old man killed during a single-vehicle crash in a wooded area.
Rockland County resident Erol Belizaire, of Wesley Hills, was killed around 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, during the crash, which happened in Rockland County in New Hempstead, on Grandview Avenue, said Ramapo Police Det Sgt. Michael Higgins.
Belizaire was driving a 2003 Subaru Outback while on his way to work when a possible medical event caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, Higgins said.
The vehicle then hit a tree on the opposite side of the road, he added.

The crash happened in Rockland County on Grandview Avenue, just west of Union Road, in New Hempstead, was reported to Ramapo Police around 9:21 a.m., Tuesday, May 12.
Responding officers discovered a Wesley Hills man dead inside the vehicle, said the Ramapo Police.
The crash, which closed Grandview Avenue for more than four hours, is under investigation.

Man, Boy, Girl Charged In Shooting At Area Transportation Center
One man and two juveniles, including a girl, have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a man in Rockland County.
Traique Wilson, 23, of Spring Valley, along with two 17-year-old juveniles were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 27 by Spring Valley Police following that shooting that took place around 2 p.m. near the Transportation Center, said Officer Matthew Galli.
According to Galli, police responded to 1 Municipal Place in Spring Valley for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on the scene they found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

A 62-year-old man allegedly driving a stolen truck rammed two police cars and then fled on foot when officers attempted to make a traffic stop.
Juan Colon, of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested around 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, after Clarkstown Police officers on patrol attempted to stop a black Ford F-350 that had been reported stolen, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.
When officers tried to make the stop in the area of Shorn Drive and Western Highway, Colon allegedly attempted to flee by ramming two Clarkstown Police vehicles, which had boxed him in, Peters said.
