Injuries Reported In Crash That Causes Merritt Closure Injuries have been reported in a rollover crash that led to a car fire and the closure in both directions of the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield late Saturday afternoon. The southbound crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. near Exit 46 in front of the Fairfield rest area, state police said. Traffic was detoured through the rest area during the time the parkway was closed.
