Roselle Park Store Sells Winning $50K Powerball Ticket No one won the top prize in Saturday's Powerball drawing, which heads into its next drawing Wednesday with a $250,000,000 jackpot.  But one lucky player purchased a ticket good for $50,000 at the 7-Eleven store, 565 West Westfield Ave. in Roselle Park.  The $50K winner matched four of five white balls in Saturday's drawing, good for the third-tier prize.  The winning numbers were 06, 08, 09, 37 and 40. The Red Power Ball number was 26. The multiplier was 02.  Wednesday's Powerball drawing is at 10:59 p.m.

Child Hospitalized After Being Hit By Vehicle In Roselle Park A 10-year-old was alert after being hit by a vehicle Monday morning in Roselle Park, police said.  The child was hit around 8:10 a.m. while crossing the street at 260 E. Westfield Avenue. The driver, who was traveling east,  stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.  The child was taken to University Hospital in Newark with leg and head injuries.  Roselle Park Police Chief Daniel J. McCaffery is asking for any witnesses or anyone with additional information to call police at ‪908-245-2300‬.

Commuter Gets Leg Stuck Between Train, Platform In Roselle Park A Roselle Park man sustained a serious leg injury after he slipped at the platform of the NJ Transit station in Roselle Park Tuesday morning, police said.  Police arrived around 7:45 a.m. and discovered the 54-year-old man, who said his leg had gotten wedged between the train and the platform as he was boarding.  He was taken to University Hospital in Newark.  The incident is under investigation by NJ Transit police. Roselle Park Chief of Police Daniel J. McCaffery said the cause "appeared to be accidental in nature."

At Least 9K Without Power In Union County Thousands of people living along and near the North Avenue-South Avenue corridor running through suburban Union County lost power Monday afternoon, according to PSEG.  A spokeswoman for the utility said the outages were first reported around 11:38 a.m. Crews were still trying to determine a cause as of early Monday afternoon.  At least 9,000 customers in Roselle Park, Clark, Westfield, Cranford and other communities were affected, the spokeswoman also said. She did not have an estimate for when power would be restored.
