Fairfield County Man Nabbed After High-Speed Chase On Merritt Parkway
Connecticut State Police were forced to use stop sticks to apprehend a motorist who took officers on a wild ride on Route 15. Members of the Wilton Police Department attempted to stop a Honda, driven by local resident Ijebol Holmes, on the Merritt Parkway at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Friday morning, when he sped away near the northbound exit 42 in Westport, state police said. The Honda was eventually spotted by a State Police trooper, still on the parkway, near exit 46 in Fairfield. Police To Ramp Up Roving Patrols, Sobriety Checkpoint Over Holiday Weekend
With one of the busiest driving weekends of the year fast approaching, local and state law enforcement agencies in Connecticut have plans to ramp up special enforcement details during the Memorial Day Weekend holiday. Police will be out in force during Memorial Day Weekend, targeting everything from motorists traveling too fast or while impaired, to those not wearing seatbelts or violating vehicle and traffic laws.
