Update: Pair Charged In Fatal Bridgewater Birthday Party Shooting A Linden man fired multiple rounds into a vehicle, killing the driver outside of a Somerset County birthday party over the weekend, said authorities who charged him and one other man Monday. Sometime Saturday night, Roobino Philemon, 30, of West Orange and a friend showed up to a birthday party being held at a Bayberry Road in Bridgewater, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Franklin Caiza was walking across the highway at West End Avenue southbound when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle around 9:55 p.m. Saturday, North Plainfield Police Chief William Parenti said. Newark Woman Walking On Highway Killed By Car In Hillside, Police Say A woman walking on Route 22 died after after being hit by a car Thursday night in Hillside, authorities confirmed Friday. Al Mujadilah Baxter, 50, of Newark, was struck around 5:45 on the eastbound side of the highway and pronounced dead en route to the hospital, Hillside Police Detective Natalie Ogonowski said. It was not immediately clear why Baxter was walking on the highway. The incident occurred at Bloy Street, and closed all lanes for several hours due to the investigation.

Plainfield Man, 48, Fatally Struck By Car On Route 22 A 48-year-old man was killed after a car hit struck him on Route 22 in North Plainfield, authorities said. Jason A. Kohl, of Plainfield, was walking west between North Drive and Watchung Avenue when a car struck him around 4:50 a.m. Sunday, North Plainfield police said. The driver, a 38-year-old Somerville man, stopped and has not been charged. Kohl was pronounced dead at the scene.
