State Police: Bronx Man, 19, Charged On High-Speed Pursuit Across Morris County A Bronx man lead state police on a pursuit through both Route 80 and Route 287 before he was nabbed in Morristown Sunday afternoon, authorities said. Albaro Velez, 19, ignored officers’ attempts to stop him for a violation on Route 80 westbound near milepost 52.6 just after 2 p.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. No Injuries In Route 287 Motorcycle, Car Crash In Parsippany No major injuries were reported after a crash between two cars and a motorcycle shut down multiple lanes on Route 287 northbound in Parsippany Thursday afternoon, state police said. The crash — involving a Toyota Camry, a Nissan NV-200 and a Victory Cross Country motorcycle — occurred near milepost 41.6 shortly after 4:20 p.m., State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele told Daily Voice. The motorcycle rider sustained non-life-threatening injuries and refused medical attention, Peele said. No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

Police summoned firefighters to tend to a fuel spill following the crash on northbound Route 17 to the Route 287 ramp in Mahwah around 5:15 p.m. The stretch regularly has been the scene of crashes, many involving tractor-trailers. Witnesses said the driver’s injuries didn’t appear serious.
