Video: Car Fire Breaks Out On Route 6 In Putnam
A busy Putnam County intersection was temporarily shut down on Thursday night as firefighters battled a blaze that broke out in a car. Firefighters from the Brewster Fire Department were dispatched to Route 6 at the intersection of Simpson Road in Brewster at approximately 10 a.m. on Friday night, where there was a car fully engulfed in flames. Crews quickly went to work, knocking down the flames and dousing the destroyed car with water before clearing the scene. A 36-year-old Mahopac man was arrested and charged with bail jumping after police say he failed to show up for a court appearance. James Hosford was charged with bail jumping in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor after police pulled him over for a vehicle and traffic infraction and discovered an active warrant out for his arrest Wednesday. Man Possesses Xanax While Driving On Route 6, Yorktown Police Say
A 23-year-old Mahopac resident was arrested and charged with possessing Xanax after a traffic stop on Route 6 early Wednesday morning. Shane McDonald was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and driving with a suspended license. McDonald was pulled over after police saw he only had one tail light illuminated. Police discovered his driver's license had been suspended multiple times for failing to answer a summons and that he was in possession of Xanax, a controlled substance. Man Busted For Second DWI In Past 10 Years In Route 6 Stop
A traffic stop on Route 6 in Cortlandt led to the arrest of a man who was busted for his second DWI in the past decade. State police stopped Fredy Ortega Flores of Cortlandt shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday morning after he committed a vehicle and traffic law violation on Route 6.
