Victim Extricated, Seriously Injured In Route 80 Box Truck Crash In Hackensack (Update) An early-morning crash involving a box truck brought a large emergency response to Route 80 in Bergen County Friday, June 21. Firefighters were called to the westbound lanes at milepost 65.5 just after 3:20 a.m., where a Mercedes Benz had rear-ended a box truck, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. Firefighters found the victim was pinned inside the vehicle, and worked to remove the roof and door of the car. The patient was stabilized and removed, then treated by EMS on scene. Troopers responded to a report of a dog running on Route 80 eastbound in Allamuchy Township, Jeffrey Lebron a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. When troopers and civilians tried to capture the dog, they were bitten, Lebron said. The troopers and civilians suffered minor injuries, Lebron said. The dog was captured and turned over to nearby animal control, Lebron said.

Pablo Suruy Hernandez, 40, had the coke stashed in various compartments of his BMW X5 when he was stopped in York County around noontime Saturday, March 23, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. Hernandez remained held Tuesday in the York County Jail, some 1,300 miles from Paterson. He's charged with both possession and possession with the intent to deliver the drugs.

At 7:34 p.m., on Route 80 west in Roxbury Township, a Ford vehicle collided with the back of a Dodge, ran off the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned, Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the Ford suffered serious injuries and was medevacked to an area hospital, McNair said. No other injuries were reported and the crash remains under investigation, McNair said.
