Couple Who Dumped, Ran From Feces-Covered Puppy At NJ Home Depot Face Charges
Charges have been filed against a couple who police say dropped a puppy covered in dried feces in a Home Depot parking lot in Central Jersey. Police did not identify the man and woman captured by surveillance footage running away from the lab retriever pup, who followed them into the Route 9 Home Depot store in Old Bridge, after dumping her in the parking lot on Friday evening, May 26. Crashes Close Routes 1 & 9 In Central Jersey
Three separate crashes closed parts of Route 1 and Route 9 in Middlesex County, authorities said. The first crash involved an overturned dump truck and occurred at about 9:35 a.m. Monday, April 3, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. EMS Volunteer Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Route 9 Jersey Shore
A volunteer member of the Bayville First Aid Squad was killed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle turning from Route 9 into a shopping center parking lot in Forked River, authorities said. Michael McCabe, 49, was riding north on Route 9 and the southbound vehicle driven by 55-year-old Anne Danza of Forked River was turning left into Sunset Plaza at 5:59 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, Lacey police said. A 34-year-old swimmer visiting from Guyana — or the "Land of Many Waters" — was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Freehold Township, authorities said. Robert Taylor was struck by a southbound driver on Route 9 at Schibanoff Lane on Monday, Jan. 9 around 7 a.m., according to authorities and those who knew Taylor. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was a mentor with the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association. A Central Jersey man who nearly died after a drunken off-duty police officer plowed into his car has reached a $2.25 million settlement, NJ Advance Media reports.
