Drunk Driver Hits Popular Hudson Valley Ice Cream Shop, Police Say
A popular Hudson Valley ice cream shop is temporarily closed after an alleged drunk driver crashed his Infiniti Q70 into the building.
The incident took place in Orange County around 4:55 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Mary Janes Dairy Bar in the town of Newburgh.
When the town of Newburgh Police officers arrived on the scene they found a 2015 Infiniti Q70 had crashed into the building on the south side, going through the wall and coming to rest in the building, said Lt. Peter Talarico, of the Newburgh Police.

An Albany man wanted out of several jurisdictions tried to run from police after they stopped his car on the Palisades Interstate Parkway and found him carrying a gun, authorities said.
Ammar Ali, 33, was driving a 2002 Honda Civic that was stopped on the southbound parkway in Alpine shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, PIP Police Lt. Raymond E. Walter said.
Ali tried to identify himself as someone else, but Officer Amir Sikder was familiar with the man whose name he used, having stopped him once before, as well, Walter said.

Two suspects are behind bars after allegedly breaking into a man’s home in the region and robbing him.
State Police in Greene County were called just before 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, by a Catskill man who said he was robbed at a home in the Jefferson Heights area.
The victim told police two suspects, a man and a woman, had entered the home before the man struck him in the face.
They took his cell phone, $12 in cash, his state ID card, a bank card, and a Medicare card, police said.

A Hudson Valley man who was allegedly driving high on drugs was arrested after being spotted swerving all over a busy roadway, almost striking several vehicles, authorities announced.
Manuel Perez, age 54, of Congers, was arrested in Rockland County around 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, when the Clarkstown Police responded to calls of a silver Toyota Suv driving erratically on Route 9W in Valley Cottage.
