Morris County Woman, 25, Killed In Tractor-Trailer Crash, Prosecutor Says
A 25-year-old Morris County woman was killed following a Tuesday morning tractor-trailer crash on Route 46, authorities confirmed. Jen Gorgas, of Netcong, collided with the tractor-trailer as it was exiting the Citgo gas station near Phillips Way in Roxbury around 8:30 a.m., Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said in a release alongside Chief of Detectives Christoph K. Kimker and Roxbury Police Chief Dean Adone. Motorist, 68, Killed In Head-On Crash With Tractor-Trailer In Central Jersey
A 68-year-old man from East Brunswick was killed when he crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer, authorities said. The crash occurred at 11:01 a.m. on Bordentown Avenue near the entrance to the Sayreville Soccer Complex, according to Sayresville Capt. Daniel Plumacker. The driver of a Hyundai Elantra, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Plumacker said. 6-Year-Old Dies In Route 80 Crash
A 6-year-old boy died in a crash on Route 80 in Morris County Thursday night, authorities said. A 2012 Chevrolet Equinox heading east was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene near milepost 28.5 in Roxbury, New Jersey State Police said. The Chevy struck a Honda HRV on impact, which by a Nissan Altima. the Chevy was then struck by a Honda Passport, police said. The boy who died was riding in the Honda HRV. An off-duty Morris County police officer chased down an alleged routine shoplifter who ran into the woods after he was found with nearly $8,000 in stolen merchandise. Police Search For Clues After Driver Hits Pedestrian In Morris County Crosswalk, Speeds Off
Police in Morris County are searching for clues after a driver struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk and sped away Thursday evening. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while using the crosswalk on Route 10 West near South Street in Roxbury around 6:30 p.m., township police said. The vehicle — which may have been a pickup truck — fled the scene before police arrived, authorities said. The Budd Lake Fire Department and several other emergency crews jumped to action to douse a two-alarm blaze that ravaged a Morris County apartment building Thursday morning. The fire broke out at building 2 of the Village Green Apartment Complex in Budd Lake around 8:30 a.m., police said.
