Westchester has seen a slight uptick in COVID-19 cases in recent days, as the infection rate in the Hudson Valley climbed over 1 percent for the first time in more than a week.
The State Department of Health reported that there were 54 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Westchester, bringing the total to 36,540 since the pandemic was first reported in New Rochelle in early March.
In the Hudson Valley region, the infection rate rose from 0.8 percent on both Saturday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 16 to 1.3 percent on Monday, Aug. 17, health officials said.

Some Westchester residents may be without power through the weekend, as utility crews continue working to repair the damage caused by Tropical Storm Isaias.
Despite calling in outside contractors to assist, thousands of Con Edison and NYSEG customers in Westchester are still reporting outages three days after the storm toppled trees and power lines.

Covid-19: Here's New Rundown Of Westchester Cases By Municipality
Five months to the day that Westchester saw its first positive COVID-19 case, the county has now administered more than 400,000 tests for the virus, with less than 10 percent coming back positive.
During his weekly COVID-19 press briefing on Monday, Aug. 3, Westchester County Executive George Latimer said that the county has now administered 400,499 COVID-19 tests, with 36,014 (9 percent) testing positive.
In total, approximately 40 percent of the county has been tested, Latimer said.
