'Quiet Giant': Borough Mourns Death Of Beloved Bergen County Firefighter, 61
He was a cornerstone of the Saddle River Fire Department, a "quiet giant" who, despite battling cancer, was still active and "always willing to help out," the borough's bravest said.
They and others were in mourning after Mark Murray, 61, succumbed to the illness Tuesday night.
“He was one of our beloved firemen and a lifelong resident,” Mayor Albert Kurpis and members of the Borough Council said in a brief statement. “[This is] a huge loss for our fire department and the borough.”

Authorities: Fugitive Leader Of Crew That Burglarized Homes In NJ, Long Island, CT Captured
The accused leader of a burglary ring that stole more than $1 million in cash, jewelry, electronics and more from homes in North Jersey, Connecticut and on Long Island was captured at a Jersey City motel, authorities confirmed.
Bryan Leandro Herrera Maldonado, 24, fought with his captors before being subdued, they said.
Authorities in January arrested three other accused members of the elaborate Queens-based Chilean burglary crew, who they said targeted luxury homes from Long Island’s North Shore to Miami and California.

These Bergen County Towns Voted For Trump, Had Close Races
While Bergen County as a whole voted in favor of Joe Biden, six towns voted red for Republican U.S. President Donald Trump.
Several towns had very close races.
In Carlstadt, for example, Biden won by only 13 votes. In Old Tappan, Biden won by 66 votes. In Saddle Brook, Trump won by 18 votes.
The following towns voted for Trump in the 2020 Presidential Election, according to results posted by the Bergen County Board of Elections.
