I-295 North Reopens After Truck Hits Overpass In South Jersey
Interstate 295 northbound in Salem County has reopened more than two days after a tractor-trailer struck an overpass, authorities said. However, the Route 140 (Hawks Bridge Road) overpass will remain closed until further notice, Carneys Point police said on Friday, Feb. 24. The crash occurred Tuesday evening, Feb. 21 near milepost 1.7 in Carneys Point, according to New Jersey State Police. Driver, 57, Killed In South Jersey Crash:

A 57-year-old driver from Gloucester County was killed in a collision at a Salem County intersection, authorities said. Daniel Lehner, of Newfield, was driving a Chevrolet Express van west on Route 40 in Pilesgrove Township at 6:29 a.m. on Feb. 2 when his van collided with a Toyota Highlander traveling north on Route 646/Pointers Auburn Road, according to New Jersey State Police. Lehner was killed in the collision, State Police said. The driver of the Highlander, Cheryl Freels, 45, of Quinton, suffered serious injuries, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

A Salem County man was arrested after he allegedly made a bomb threat while boarding a Philadelphia-bound plane at Palm Beach International Airport, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office and multiple news reports. Authorities have identified a 39-year-old man killed in a Salem County fire. The deceased was identified as Andres Gutierrez, of Oldmans Township, according to New Jersey State Police. The fire broke out at 12:33 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Porch Farms, Pennsville-Pedricktown Road in Oldmans Township, State Police said. An unidentified person was killed in a house fire in Salem County, authorities said. The fire broke out at 12:33 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11 on Pennsville-Pedricktown Road in Oldmans Township, New Jersey State Police said.
