A 39-year-old man will spend decades behind bars after being convicted of attempted murder in Maryland for chasing a man with a shotgun and shooting him in the head, authorities announced. Waldorf resident William Anthony Smothers, 39, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the attempted murder of James Rudd, Jr. and related charges, according to the State’s Attorney for Charles County. Fireworks Mistaken For Gunshots Puts Arlington School In Lockdown: Police
Washington-Liberty High School was place on lockdown when fireworks were mistaken for gunshots Tuesday, July 19, authorities said. Officers arrived at the school at around 7:50 a.m. and found evidence of fireworks that were set off, Arlington County Police reported. A young teenage girl has been charged after making threats of mass violence against Takoma Park Middle School, authorities say. Radnor High School Student Accused Of Making Bomb Threats
A Delaware County high school student is in police custody after cops connected them to a series of bomb threats at Radnor High School, authorities said. Criminal allegations have been filed against the juvenile suspect, whose identity will not be released due to their age, local police said. The minor was also referred to juvenile court.
