Union County Man Nabbed In Rash Of Morris County Home Burglaries, Car Thefts A 22-year-old man who police say burglarized numerous homes and vehicles in Morris County last month has been charged. Elijah Lott, of Scotch Plains, is accused of breaking into at least three Chatham Township homes and stealing valuables in September, Morris County Acting Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said in a release Friday. Some of the homes Lott targeted were occupied during the break-ins, Carroll said. Westfield PD: Driver Who Fatally Struck Pedestrian, 87, Ticketed The driver who struck and killed an 87-year-old pedestrian from Scotch Plains last week has been issued three summonses, authorities said. John Cregg was struck by James Reid, 74, of Parlin, on South Avenue at the Scotch Plains Avenue intersection around 12:50 p.m. last Friday, Westfield police said. Cregg was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark, police said. Parlin was charged with failure to observe a traffic control device, failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian and careless driving, police said. The investigation remains ongoing.
