Man, Woman Charged With Attempted Home Burglary
Two Fairfield County residents were arrested after allegedly attempting to break into an area home.
Billy Joe Santos, 43, and Maria Demelo, 57, both of Bridgeport, were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 27, after Bridgeport Police responded to a call of a burglary on Ezra Street, said Scott Appleby, director of the Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management.
Responding police detained Demelo, and a K-9 officer was brought in to locate Santos, Appleby said.
At the same time, officers responded to the 100th block of Harlem Avenue where they found a vehicle used by the suspects.
