Firefighters Douse Blaze At Seaside Park Motel
Firefighters near the Jersey Shore extinguished a fire inside a motel at Seaside Park early Wednesday. At about 1:30 a.m., firefighters responded to the Charlroy Motel at 1601 North Ocean Ave. Firefighters found heavy smoke near the rear of the motel and quickly brought the blaze under control. Crews cut a hole in the roof to vent the motel and searched the building, according to initial reports. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation

Teenage Shooting Suspect Arrested By Ocean County SWAT Team
A 17 year-old juvenile was arrested by an Ocean County SWAT team on Tuesday night in connection with a shooting in Seaside Park, authorities said. The juvenile was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery and several weapons charges, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. Possible Drowning Reported Along Jersey Shore
First responders were called to a report of possible drowning along the Jersey shore, authorities said. The water emergency was called about 4 p.m. off 100th Street in Long Beach, according to initial reports. An unconfirmed report said the elderly swimmer had been pulled from the water and that EMTs were trying to revive her. New Jersey authorities have been warning about rough seas all week. On Monday, a swimmer in his 60s drowned in Lavallette and five other swimmers were rescued in Seaside Park, authorities said.

Swimming Advisories Effected At 3 NJ Beaches Where High Bacteria Levels Found
A swimming advisory was issued Tuesday for three New Jersey beaches where elevated levels of meningitis-causing bacteria was found. Enterococci turned up in water samples from Trenton Avenue Ocean Beach in Lavallette, 5th Avenue Bay Beach in Seaside Park, and 16th Street Bay Beach in Surf City. The bacteria can cause urinary tract infections, bacterial endocarditis and more. Swimming advisories are effected when samples exceed 104 colony forming units (cfu) of enterococci. Whale Capsizes Boat Off Seaside Shore
A whale breached the surface of the water and landed on a fishing boat a few dozen yards offshore Monday in Seaside Park, witnesses said. Two people aboard were OK after the impact threw them into the water, they said. The whale kept swimming and appeared fine, as well, said witnesses who helped collect the pair’s belongings. Authorities were figuring out how to remove the the 25-foot fishing vessel, which landed upright on the beach, according to a Friends of Seaside Park Facebook post. : Firefighters Recover Body In Seaside Park
Seaside Park and Ocean Beach firefighters and EMS crews were called to Island Beach State Park on Thursday on a report of a body found in the water, authorities said. They could not immediately confirm whether it was the row-boater who went missing on the Toms River before Tuesday's thunderstorms. The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search earlier Thursday for an Ocean Gate boater who disappeared before the major storm slammed the Jersey Shore two days earlier. Police shut down a Lakewood toy store that had more than 50 customers gathered outside while an employee took orders in violation of mandatory state coronavirus closures, authorities said. A wannabe terrorist from Elizabeth who’s already serving double-life in federal prison received yet another lifetime sentence for trying to kill five Linden police officers who captured him after he detonated bombs at the Jersey Shore and in New York City in 2016.
