Pursuit, Crash Leads To Discovery Of Long Island Duo With Ghost Gun, Police Say
A weekend police chase on Long Island ended with troopers finding a so-called ghost gun.
The incident began around 11 a.m. Sunday, May 1, when troopers attempted to stop a Nissan Altima for speeding on the Northern State Parkway near New Highway in Smithtown, New York State Police said.
After a short pursuit, the driver entered the on-ramp to Sunken Meadow Parkway but lost control on a curve and crashed near a wooded area, police said.
The driver then took off on foot and has not been found.

Woman Struck, Killed By SUV In Coram
A local woman was struck and killed by an SUV while crossing a Long Island roadway.
The crash took place around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, in Corman on North Bicycle Path, said the Suffolk County Police.
The victim, identified as Merlin Elizabeth Martinez, was struck by Mark Daniels, driving a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound on North Bicycle Path, while walking east across the street, police said.
Martinez, age 66, of Selden, was transported via Selden Fire Department Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The owners of a popular restaurant have opened a second Long Island location and shared plans to open a third.
Japanese barbecue spot JBBQ & Shabu Shabu opened the second Suffolk County location on Saturday, Feb. 12.
Located at 41 Route 111 in Smithtown, the restaurant's menu features BBQ beef, pork, chicken, vegetable, and seafood dishes.
Guests can also choose a soup base and select from a variety of types of meat and seafood to create a hot pot.

Suffolk County Man Charged For Valentine's Day Liquor Store Robbery
A Long Island man has been charged with the robbery of a liquor store that left an employee injured on Valentine's Day.
Donte Harrell, age 23, of Patchogue, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 23, for the incident which took place on Friday, Feb. 14 at Suffolk Wines and Liquor in Selden.
Harrell was arrested for allegedly going into the store and stealing two bottles of liquor around 1:30 p.m., said the Suffolk County Police.
When an employee tried to stop him, he punched the man in the face. During the scuffle with Harrell, the employee fell causing him to bruise his hand, police said.

Suffolk County Man Accused Of Committing Three Robberies In Eight Days
A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly committing three robberies in an eight-day span.
Kristian Falterman, age 40, of Selden, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 20, by Suffolk County Police for three robberies that occurred in Huntington Station during an eight-day span.
Police said the robberies took place between Tuesday, Jan. 11, and Wednesday, Jan. 19.
According to police, Falterman forcibly stole money and two cell phones from an employee at Sugar Pine Spa, located at 953 New York Ave. in Huntington Station, on Jan. 11.
