Strong winds from Tropical Depression Debby continued to wreak havoc on New York and the Hudson Valley into Friday evening, Aug. 9. In the Northern Westchester County village of Ossining, police said downed trees had knocked out power to homes and businesses south of Charter Circle near Highland Avenue. Hochul Declares State Of Emergency For All Of NY, Sends Water Rescue Teams
As the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby slam much of New York with flooding, dangerous winds, and threaten to bring tornadoes, Gov. Kathy Hochul has declared a state of emergency and mobilized rescue teams. The declaration came on Friday, Aug. 9 after Debby's remnants arrived in New York, bringing severe flooding and gusty winds to much of the state as it moves northeast. Missing Man, 85, Found During Late Night Thunderstorms At South Jersey Golf Course
An elderly man was found at an Atlantic County golf course overnight after he went missing for several hours in severe weather, authorities said. In a news release, Egg Harbor Township police said 85-year-old Mu Lee was reunited with his family at around 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17.
