A 29-year-old man from Colts Neck man has been arrested in connection with a series of bank robberies during the past month, authorities said. Conor Kavanagh, 29, was charged with three counts of first-degree armed robbery, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said on Monday. A 26-year-old Elizabeth man was arrested at a Newark hotel, where he had been running a mobile heroin mill linked to 15 suspected overdoses across New Jersey, authorities said Agents found Marlon Lopez operating a heroin mill out of a hotel on Routes 1 & 9 in Newark, in which he was able to quickly mobilize the entire operation from room-to-room and to different locations altogether, New Jersey State Police said in a news release. A 69-year-old man from Central Jersey has died as a result of a car-pedestrian collision, authorities said. Tamar Carseladze of Shrewsbury was attempting to cross Route 35 outside of a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni. Red Bank HS Cancels Graduation After Senior Tests Positive For Coronavirus
An in-person commencement ceremony planned this week for 321 Class of 2020 graduates from Red Bank Regional High School has been canceled due to coronavirus. School officials scrubbed Thursday's graduation altogether after a senior tested positive for coronavirus, and "may have infected a number of classmates," they said. Shrewsbury Man Admits Sexual Assault Of 7 Pre-Teen Children
A Shrewsbury man admitted on Tuesday that he sexually assaulted seven juvenile victims -- all under the age of 13 -- between 2008 and 2018, authorities said, and now faces 18 years in state prison. New Trader Joe's Coming To Freehold
There's a glimmer of good news on the retail circuit: A new Trader Joe's wholesale grocery store is coming to Route 9 in Freehold this year. Other tenants at Pond Road Plaza include DSW, Michael’s and Petco. The Trader Joe's store is expected to move into 12,588-square-feet of vacated space previously occupied by Walgreens. The pharmacy closed in 2015. It was previously reported the company was interested in expanding into the Monmouth County town as early as the fall. Trader Joe's already operates a store on Broad Street in Shrewsbury.
