Suffern High School sophomore Jacqueline Zangrilli, age 16, died around 2:50 a.m., on Saturday, April 24, when the vehicle she was riding in struck a utility pole, according to the Ramapo Police. Following Zangrilli's death, a GoFundMe was set up to assist the family with funeral expenses. "Jacqueline was special in so many ways," said the GoFundMe. One Killed In Fiery Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash A person was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island. It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at approximately 11:45 p.m. in Middle Island. A 2007 Infiniti sedan was traveling southbound on Rocky Point Road, south of Whiskey Road, when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, caught fire and became fully engulfed, Suffolk County Police said.  The Middle Island Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. The driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, has not yet been identified by police and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It happened around 4:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9 in South Farmingdale.  Gary Yander, of South Farmingdale, was traveling westbound in a 2008 Cadillac on Motor Avenue when he struck multiple fixed objects in the vicinity of Merritts Road, Nassau County Police said. He sustained multiple trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Police Medic.  The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
